CMP Study Group
Testimonials from CMP’s
Greg Phelps CMP
Director of Meeting Planning and Expositions
National Ground Water Association
“I have been a meeting professional for over 20 years and a CMP since 2006. In addition to increasing my knowledge and awareness of aspects of the meeting industry that I may not be involved with on a day to day basis, it demonstrates my credentials as a meeting planner as I begin to work with suppliers I haven’t worked with before. As an association executive, it demonstrates to the members of the National Ground Water Association the value I place on certification within one’s industry. I attended both the MPIOH CMP study group and boot camp and couldn’t imagine passing without it.”
Adrienne Yates CMP
Director of Sales & Marketing
Franklin County Veterans Memorial
“I have been in the meetings industry for over 15 years and just recently received my CMP. I was asked to teach a CMP class and was a bit apprehensive since I had only received my CMP 18 months ago. I enjoyed interacting with the students and after teaching realized that I knew a lot more than I thought!”
Gail McLaughlin CMP, CMM
Pro Football Hall of Fame
Event Marketing Specialist
“Joining MPI, attending monthly meetings and annual conferences helped me in my sales efforts because I was becoming more aware of what was expected by the planners. I soon learned that I too could qualify to become a CMP because of my long work history and the educational experiences MPI offered. I studied and took the exam, not so easy for someone who had been out of school for so long; but I passed! The one think that I’ve learned is that our business is ever changing and one must persistently learn the new trends and keep up with the new technology to continue to be a productive member in this business we call HOSPITALITY!”
Jessica Bartley CMP
Catering/Private Events Manager
Smith & Wollensky Restaurant
“I received my CMP in the spring of 2011 and the experience has been invaluable to my career. Participating in the study group and boot camp elped keep me on track giving me confidence that I was prepared to take the exam. I have also formed strong professional and personal connections with so many wonderful people through this process. I’ve found the experience to be both personally rewarding - but also very professionally rewarding.”
